What you can do

1. S end a letter or email to your friends , telling them about World Press Freedom Day. Help spread the word about worldwide abuses of freedom of expression and the problem of impunity.

2. Send a letter of protest to the governments of Mexico , Peru and Eritrea demanding justice on behalf of journalists who have fallen victim to violence because of their insistence on reporting the truth.

3. Join Canadian Journalists for Free Expression . CJFE relies on the support of its members to work for human rights and freedom of expression around the world. 4. Exercise your freedom of expression . You live in a country where you are free to exercise your right to free expression. On World Press Freedom Day, exercise your right.

•  Read an article in the newspaper.

•  Watch a half hour of the news on TV,

•  Listen to a news radio program.

•  Visit a news website.

•  Write a letter to the editor of your favourite magazine, newspaper, or journal, letting them know what you enjoy about their publication or what you don't.

•  Fit a tiny bit of press freedom into your schedule today.
